Pool Terrace:
Our 8 x 4 mtr pool complete with terrace furniture, is situated at the rear of Quinta Familia and is conveniently placed for the use of guests. It is surrounded by shady trees and has excellent countryside views.
Outside:
Our newly fitted summer kitchen for your poolside snacks or self catering meals: fridge, sink, microwave, gas hob, kettle, toaster and a BBQ area with tables and chairs.
Travel:
Golf – the Algarve is famous for its golf courses. Vale de Lobo, one of the most famous is less than a 25 minute drive away. Equipment can be bought or hired.
Sea excursions – half day or full day deep sea fishing trips or dolphin watching trips can be organized from the harbour at Villamoura, the harbourside packed with shops and cafes for anyone unsure of their sea legs and happy to watch the world go by instead.
History/walking – It’s possible to join a section of the Algarve Way, which starts in Alcoutim and ends in Sagres, by visiting the nearby villages of Salir or Alte. Alte is a particularly pretty village nestled in the hills in an area known as the `Garden of the Algarve´ due to is Citrus, Almond and Fig trees. It is famous for its gushing springs and drinking fountains, its ceramic shops and 18th Century Baroque Parish Church. A lovely day out.
Sightseeing – Albufeira, originally a sleepy fishing village but now one of the main holiday destinations on the south coast, is a 30 minute drive away and has an old and new town. The old town has narrow cobbled streets which play host to bars and restaurants, the white and black mosaic paving is a traditional form originally invented to use up rubble from houses demolished in the 1755 earthquake. The town has several bays making up its beach areas, the beach in the old town is reached via a tunnel and is still used daily by the fishermen to bring their catch to shore.
Water parks – the Algarve has many water parks offering fun for the family. Waterslides, swimming pools and sea life shows.
Shopping – Faro or Gia, 40 minutes away have shops to delight any shopaholic looking to pick up clothes or gifts. They both have cinemas and lovely beaches.

Lisbon – a 2.5 hour journey by road or rail to the capital of Portugal, a day out for couples and families alike.
Spain – 45 minutes drive to the Spanish border and 2.5 hours to Seville.
Monchique – a spa village high in the Sierro de Monchique mountain range.
Special events
The Portuguese celebrate many religious and non religious festivals in the region if you are visiting during carnival time they are colourful joyful occasions, all are welcome. A few are listed below:
